By the time the victim realized he was being cheated and stopped receiving responses, he had transferred ₹13.4 lakh to various bank accounts and UPI IDs. After waiting for over a month, he finally approached the Cyberabad cyber crime police on June 30. A case was registered under Section 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 66-D of the IT Act.
